    <<GOODNESS GRACIOUS>> STL
-the latest project from the mind of Mike Fitzsimons (from Digital Movement / Fitz & Dan). Fitz has been hard at work in the studio, creating new tracks with guitar, synth, and Ableton production. Check out what he's working on at his website below; and come out October 1st to see and hear the tracks in full effect. There will be live guitar, bass, synth, and laptop DJ'ing.

4sho & Loyal Family are proud to present Alex B + Laser Sword w/ guests Mohawk vs. Heezy on Friday, May 7th @ 2720 Cherokee.

If there is a spare minute in Alex B’s life, it is spent in the studio working on music. Although he is classically trained on violin and an array of other instruments, he is best known as the outstanding bass player and guiding force behind Pnuma Trio, the live electronic band that in just one year played over 220 shows all around the world after breaking onto the scene to immediate acclaim and success. As a solo artist, his use of a dizzying mixture of analog hardware and newer digital technology give him a signature sound that is difficult to pin down to just one (or two or three) genres. Layers and layers of synthesizer, bass and enticing effects are laid over broken hip-hop and down-tempo inspired beats to create rich textures with a jazz undercurrent.

Lazer Sword is the duo of San Francisco-based LOW LIMIT and LANDO KAL. “We like to make music that sounds like your favorite top 40 rap shit chopped up into a tornado filled with razor blades and molasses, or maybe like Frank Zappa rocking the home made Lil John tank-top at the rooftop party!”

Joining them will be the STL Dubstep duo Mohawk vs. Heezy, sure to kick off the night in style with a DJ Battle set at 9pm.

Mimosa takes listeners on a journey through warm rhythmic sound-scapes, with melodies and vocal samples smoothly crafted to help navigate the sonic terrain. Using basslines inspired by hip-hop classics like Too Short and Dr Dre, combined with deep psychedelic textures reminiscent of the downtempo and midtempo output by Tipper and Bluetech, Mimosa blends the range of styles to create his own fresh take on the west coast sound. Mimosa’s debut EP release, Hostilis, presents tracks with heavy-hitting low frequencies, sexy grooves, and uplifting dub infusions, floating between instrumental Hip Hop and Dubstep. The Hostilis EP also features prolific MC Souleye from Colorado, known for his extensive touring with jam bands like BLVD and STS9. The track ‘Framboise’ features beautiful vocal textures provided by Canadian artist Sasha [Butterfly] Rose.
